Just in time to capture the still simmering excitement of the Artemis II moon mission, Apple TV has released the trailer for its new series Star City. The series is a spin-off of the hit series For All Mankind, which depicts an alternate history in which the Soviet Union landed on the moon first, thus altering the future of human space travel.
The early look at Star City reveals plenty of Soviet Union spy genre intrigue, Orwellian themes, brutalist aesthetics as the alternate-history Russia works to put its cosmonauts on the moon before the United States.
For those still currently engaged in the fifth season of For All Mankind (the final season will debut in 2027), Star City serves as a kind of prequel, detailing the Soviet Union’s side of the fictional story.
The new spin-off series makes its debut on May 29, 2026.
