AI videos may not be storming the box office just yet, but at least one new creation presents an idea that might actually draw some views. A new trailer from YouTuber AI or Die pairs famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson with jailed crypto mogul Sam Bankman-Fried in a buddy science fiction movie that features a cast of tech stars and leading political figures.

The trailer is for a fictional film called Pi Hard (as in Die Hard), but spelled π Hard, and features convincing AI versions of Elon Musk as the leader of an evil robot army, Bill Gates, who has a sinister robot clone, and the late theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking (author of A Brief History of Time), who now has a laser eye weapon and a levitating wheelchair. Yes, the trailer gets pretty crazy.

Also appearing are realistic AI versions of incarcerated tech mogul Elizabeth Holmes, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Joe Rogan regular Eric Weinstein, a memeified version of Vice President JD Vance, and YouTubers Candace Owens and MrBeast

The short was created using ByteDance’s Seedance 2.0, ElevenLabs, Freepik, Kling AI, and Grok. Of course, due to legal issues, this will almost certainly never be a full-length film, and may have a limited shelf life on YouTube. But until it’s taken down, this is a fun look at a buddy tech nerd film in the tradition of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s This Is The End
