Although the iconic sci-fi film Blade Runner, set in the year 2019, hasn’t turned into a reality full of real humanoid robots on the run, Japan is at least trying to give us flying cars.
Japan’s NEC showed off a prototype flying car earlier this week at its Chiba facility, and it actually looks pretty viable. The project is a partnership with fellow Japanese company Cartivator. The one catch is that the test happened with no real human in the passenger seat. Nevertheless, this shows that we’re one step closer to the sci-fi dream.
