The robot is named SEMMI and is the creation of Deutsche Bahn AG.
SEMMI is currently working the East Japan Railway Co. Tokyo Station in Tokyo, Japan. As the country’s population continues to decline, expect to see more robots taking over in public service jobs.
If SEMMI looks familiar, you might remember a similar transportation-related robot called Johnny Cab from the 1990 film Total Recall starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
