Tracking how new technology reshapes storytelling, where the future of human creativity shows up first: AI and other emerging technologies are completely changing how Hollywood tells stories, and how we consume them. MARS Magazine was created as a place to investigate the intersection of futurist narratives and the real world technology and science.

Some of the most impactful innovators of our time openly credit science fiction, in film, television, and literature, with shaping how they imagine and build the future we now live in. At the same time, our greatest storytellers often pull from real breakthroughs in tech and science to craft “what if?” scenarios that challenge us to reconsider what humanity is becoming. MARS Magazine reverse engineers real tech innovations, current business events, and even fictional narratives to uncover what they mean for our collective future.

FOUNDER OF MARS MAGAZINE
MARS Magazine was created by Adario Strange, a technology and business analyst, filmmaker, and science fiction author from Manhattan, New York. ONLY HUMAN-WRITTEN TEXT
A Note From the Publisher: We’ve noticed that some publishers and newsrooms have adopted AI-generated writing. Some have not. And others mix the two, blurring the line between what a human thinks and what the algorithm thinks a human thinks. As a result, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to know when or if you’re reading text crafted by a thinking human or a machine. At MARS Magazine, we’ve pledged to publish only human-written essays, reports, and stories; there are no AI-generated stories here.

When you our words, we promise that you are reading the words of a human being, not an AI chatbot. Media will continue to evolve, as will AI’s role in it, so there’s definitely a place for AI in some kinds of text-based media. This isn’t a judgment about other publishers using AI-generated text. Instead, it’s a deliberate choice that is designed to maintain a direct, disintermediated connection with other thinking humans.

As we move forward, we believe that knowing you’re reading a real human and not AI-generated text will continue to accrue value, at least for those who really want to know the mind of their fellow humans.
