If you thought the Star Wars universe was just going to live on in streaming shows like The Mandalorian, think again.
Lucasfilm has just announced a major publishing initiative that will push a wide range of graphic novels, books, and new characters and lore into the Star Wars fan base.
The period is called Star Wars: The High Republic, and it’s set 200 years before the events of Star Wars: the Phantom Menace.
According to a mini documentary (below) announcing the publishing drive, the characters and world will follow the kind of Old West style approach that has made The Mandalorian so popular.
The first book is slated for release in August 2020.
