Everyone is having asking if we’re living in a simulation, but that last time a movie tackled this topic well was 20 years ago in The Matrix. Now Ryan Reynolds will take his stab at the question in a new film called Free Guy.
But instead of sinister post-apocalyptic robot-controlled human slavery, the film is centered around a video game character who discovers he’s an NPC (non-player character). And that’s when things get interesting. If you need another reason to give the film a chance, it also stars breakout star Jodie Comer of Killing Eve fame.
The film will hit theaters on July 3, 2020.
