Five Ways To Guarantee Your Company Won’t Ever Make TechCrunch

Posted on September 26, 2007 | Category: BUSINESS, MARS BLOG, silicon valley

marrgtn1.jpgOr, how to violate the very real rules of the new Silicon Valley velvet rope club. Kudos to Dawn Douglass for having the chutzpah to call out one of the most high-profile tech bloggers, Mike Arrington. Read her words carefully, it could be the last time you hear from her. In one blog post (and in subsequent comments) she essentially shows us how to guarantee that your company or blog will never show up on TechCrunch—ever. Here’s how…

1. Take scathingly critical aim at Michael Arrington and his site TechCrunch
2. Openly accuse The TechCrunch40 conference organizers of “stacking the deck towards their own interests”
3. Accuse TechCrunch of “piling on Pay Per Post to get more ad revenue”
4. Claim TechCrunch violated the confidentiality of certain parties
5. And finally, accuse Arrington of having bad manners as host

That about sums it up, you can read the entire post yourself here. Other than Dave Winer, nowadays I don’t expect to hear much of this kind of frank talk-from–the-heart in the Web 2.0 space, so it was quite refreshing.
